SEO for Builders: How to Get Found for Extension Work

Most builders do not need more traffic. They need the right traffic: homeowners in the towns worth travelling to, looking for the jobs worth quoting.

Decide which jobs you actually want

Extensions, loft conversions and full renovations behave completely differently online from small repair work. Build pages for the profitable end of your diary and let the rest come through word of mouth.

Name your towns in plain language

A page that says 'we cover Leeds, Wetherby and Harrogate' with genuine examples of work in those areas outperforms a vague page that says 'Yorkshire and surrounding areas'.

Show finished work, in order

Before, during, after. Homeowners are trying to picture their own house. Your phone photographs are more convincing than any stock imagery, provided they are sharp and well lit.

Make the next step obvious

One clear action on every page: request a quote or book a survey. A form asking for eight fields kills more enquiries than a slow website does.
